Dr Lenka Pelechova
I am a social sciences research associate in the EnDROIDS project at the University of Newcastle (School of Computing).
I completed my PhD in Sociology at the University of Nottingham in 2014. I have qualitative methods background and my thesis focused on migrant domestic workers in the UK.
Within the EnDROIDS project, my research centres on the area of Social Study of Science and Technology. The areas of nanotechnology, synthetic biology, cognitive science and information technology (NBIC) are rapidly evolving and raise new lines of social, ethical, policy and legal enquiries. I am particularly interested in the study of public perceptions of novel technologies (mainly synthetic biology and nanotechnology), responsible research and innovation, digital divide and digital poverty.
